Recent Images

Have not posted in quite some time – need to catch up today – here are a few of my recent images!

A friend invited me to his ranch last week – it was the week they bring in the cows and calves for branding and marking. Below are two of many images made on the trip. If only there was a way to convey the sound of this event…..

Prior to the round-up above I spent a week in Scotland – here are two images from that trip.

Death Valley, California

Generally we see in terms of or education. We see what we believe is there. For me, as a photographer, I need to relax, both my eyes and beliefs. It is important that I express my feelings and emotions with each photograph – and attempt to record it convincingly. This is extremely emotional and personal – personal in that no one else has my vision and no other photograph will look like mine.

What I enjoy most about photography is the camera’s ability to define much differently from the eye – always a surprise with each frame. It is not any particular object but the relationships of object; or the isolation of an object that attract me.

Hraunfosser Falls‘I have often photographed when I am not in tune with nature but the photographs look as if I had been. So I conclude that something in nature says, ‘Come and take my photograph.’ So I do, regardless of how I feel’ – Minor White
